Lake Tahoe Area
Well I am back in the saddle at least about Painting and Posting. Finished this painting of the Lake Tahoe area last night. I reworked it several times and at one point had the grass on the mountainside a very muted green. I brought the value of the grass up significantly and like the picture much better this way.

This picture was reworked several times before it reached this finished stage. The challenge was to get enough contrast into a picture that was taken a high noon. I am pleased with the finished product. I also experimented with my palette and used a very minimum palette with just one yellow, one blue, one red and viridian green. The painting is from a very small spot on the beginning of the trail to the top of Enchanted Rock.

Early Works
Am sending two early works to California. These are early works that were done in Acrylics on Canvas Board. The Snap dragons is fashioned after a work of Birgen Sandzen.
The Study is Citrus was done from an actual set up. It has been awhile since I have done any still lives from set ups. Perhaps it is time to work on one of those again.

Christian took this picture so he is absent!!! I will post a new picture as soon as we get one that includes Christian. From Left to Right Tim, Len, Myself and Pat.

"Hope Oak" 18 x 24 inch Original Oil
This picture is being donated to the Silent Auction for fund raising on behalf of the: Warrior and Family Support Center. I feel that the broad brush strokes and the brush confidence make this an exceptional painting.

Last Lake Martin Painting
I did one more painting from the excursion to Lake Martin, Louisiana. This is going to be the last "Swamp" picture for awhile. I have decided to try some "Urban Landscapes". Hope you enjoy the latest offering.

Sunset on Lake Martin
I have reworked this picture a number of times. Today I believe that there is finally enough differentiation in the values. Previously the picture lacked some very Dark and some very Light values. I actually signed this painting today. The two earlier posts that showed this picture have been removed.
