This is a painting of a scene near Pedernales State Park outside of Austin, Texas. I had attempted painting this scene several times in the past. This week I started painting over an older picture of the scene that I had blocked in with paint. The palette for this painting is considerably lighter than the original. It still needs some work in the sky and in the background trees but the rocks and the water are acceptable.
