Just outside of Breaux Bridge, Louisana is Lake Martin. Recently did a swamp tour there and was amazed at the beauty of the area. The lake is indicative of the Atchafalaya Swamp Basin with very similar foliage, fauna and terrain. The water did have the bright green tinge to it under the clear blue sky. This was a great exercise in putting together a smaller canvas that is representational. Thanks to all of my fellow painters at the Houston Civic Arts Association who encouraged and suggested ways to improve this painting. The input is always appreciated.
