This picture was reworked several times before it reached this finished stage. The challenge was to get enough contrast into a picture that was taken a high noon. I am pleased with the finished product. I also experimented with my palette and used a very minimum palette with just one yellow, one blue, one red and viridian green. The painting is from a very small spot on the beginning of the trail to the top of Enchanted Rock.

A subdued but powerful piece. I wonder how you manage to create such different personalities in your works-- they are like people and they speak out so individually...thank you!
