Was back at the Houston Civic Arts Association this past Thursday night. I have been running an open studio every Thursday evening. I took the opportunity this past week to work on a picture that I began painting this past summer in a class with Bruce Williamson. I have labeled the painting a "Study" because it was originally painted from a slide provided by Bruce. My friend Cliff was kind enough to send me a picture of his finished painting so I had some "Guideline" about how to complete this work. It is representational and not made up from my imagination. Interestingly the area on the left in the photo looked like a beach studded with heavy trash and refuse. That is when "artistic license" is really required. I did sign this and consider this study complete.
