Memorial Day Weekend

I did not want Memorial Day to pass without a thought of its true meaning. Below is Wikipedia's opening remark on Memorial Day: Quote
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 30 in 2011). I did get to paint this past Thursday and put together a picture of the coast of Portugal. This was done from a photo on my first trip to Europe where I actually went to see some of the areas my father served in during World War II. I think this might work on a larger scale. The painting still needs a few touch ups.
